Senior Operational Improvement Business Partner – 10-12 month Maximum Term – Perth CBD
As the Senior Operational Improvement Business Partner, you will be responsible for developing, driving, and delivering Operational Improvement Projects with sound commercial awareness within the Business Unit with a strong focus on efficiency and improvements. This will be achieved through delivering significant projects to achieve tangible business benefits in line with Western Power’s strategic objectives, while actively seeking out efficiency opportunities within the business and the application of multiple process / business improvement models and methodologies to fit the required purpose.
This position will provide subject matter expertise in supporting the delivery of projects within an improvement framework that will provide our customers with a consistent approach to operational improvement. This will include best practice coaching and mentoring across Asset Operations and where appropriate to the wider business.
This position will also lead initiatives which aim to achieve tangible business benefits in line with Western Power’s strategic Objectives. Reporting to all levels of management required at each stage of progress.
Your Role in Action
- Accountable for the completion of significant business / process improvement projects to time, cost, quality and strategic targets.
- Consistently achieve validated benefits in line with project objectives.
- Accountable for providing guidance to the business on Western Power operating model, while identifying potential efficiency opportunities.
- Develop and maintain end to end processes to deliver optimal outcomes.
- Assist in the design and delivery of an operational improvement framework, application, and ongoing sustainability.
- Develop and mentor other Business Partners, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and other employees on improvement best practices.
- Develop and maintain effective “value” relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Align projects and initiatives with organisation wide change program.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Qualified Lean Six Sigma, or related business/process improvement disciplines/methodologies.
- At least 10+ years’ experience in a business/process improvement environment.
- Extensive, broad, and demonstrated experience in the application of the business / process improvement methodology with demonstrated outcomes.
- Strong Project Management experience and process improvement skills and techniques/methodologies.
- Proven experience in process / business improvement training, development, and mentorship.
- Proven success in leading organisational and cultural change in a complex environment.
- Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed, and logical discussions/presentations.
- The ability to ‘lead self’ by coordinating and balancing multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
- Innovative and creative problem-solving skills used within a team and with Customers.
- Proven skills to drive performance targets to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven skills to influence, develop, and motivate people and change behaviours.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.).
