Senior Organisational Design & Strategy Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Organisational Design and Strategy Specialist to help shape how Western Power evolves to meet future business challenges and opportunities.

 

This role combines strategic thinking with practical delivery, partnering closely with senior leaders and People teams to assess organisational effectiveness, design fit-for-purpose operating models, and deliver people strategy initiatives that strengthen organisational capability and performance.

 

You'll play a key role in identifying opportunities for improvement, solving complex organisational challenges, and implementing solutions that enable the business to deliver on its strategic objectives.

 

This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis – we welcome applications from candidates seeking flexible arrangements.

 

Your Role in Action

 

  • Lead organisational design and operating model reviews from initial diagnosis through to design, recommendation and implementation, partnering closely with senior leaders to create structures and ways of working that enable business performance and future success.
  • Identify, scope and deliver strategic people and organisational initiatives, translating business priorities, workforce insights and People Strategy objectives into practical, high-impact outcomes.
  • Analyse workforce and organisational data, alongside business and stakeholder insights, to diagnose organisational challenges, identify improvement opportunities and evaluate the effectiveness and benefits of key initiatives.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships across the organisation, working collaboratively with leaders, People Business Partners and key stakeholders to understand business needs, influence outcomes and drive organisational change.
  • Develop robust business cases, proposals and evidence-based recommendations, applying commercial thinking, cost-benefit analysis and resource considerations to support informed decision-making and prioritisation.
  • Lead the delivery of complex initiatives, ensuring outcomes are achieved through effective planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, change support and continuous monitoring of progress and benefits realisation.
  • Apply contemporary thinking and best practice in organisational design, operating models, organisational effectiveness and workforce strategy to continuously enhance approaches, frameworks and tools used across the organisation.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, inclusion and continuous improvement, balancing strategic initiatives with evolving business needs while delivering quality outcomes that strengthen organisational capability, resilience and performance.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

 

  • Demonstrated experience in organisational development, organisational design and/or people strategy, with a strong understanding of what drives organisational effectiveness.
  • Proven success delivering complex people and organisational initiatives within a contemporary HR, Organisational Development or consulting environment.
  • Strong change management and stakeholder engagement capability, with the ability to build trust, influence decisions and drive outcomes.
  • Highly developed facilitation, coaching and consulting skills, enabling you to support leaders through organisational change and transformation.
  • A collaborative and commercially minded approach, with the ability to challenge thinking, influence behaviour and translate ideas into practical solutions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline.
  • Management consulting experience is highly desirable and / or experience in large, complex organisations.
