Senior Project Manager  |  12 Month Fixed Term  |  Perth CBD

Western Power's People Business Unit is building out its Portfolio Management Office — the function that brings governance, visibility and delivery discipline to the work that shapes our people experience, capability, safety and strategy. We're recruiting an experienced Senior Project Manager to take end-to-end accountability for projects delivered through the PMO.

You'll run a varied portfolio of People projects — from operating model and process improvement to systems uplift, capability and culture initiatives — many of which carry business-wide implications and multiple delivery streams. You'll partner with senior leaders across the People function and the broader business, managing the interdependencies, risks and benefits that come with delivering change beyond a single function. Success is measured by meeting scope, quality, time and budget, and by the visible impact your delivery has on how the organisation works.

It's a great opportunity for an experienced PM who enjoys variety, thrives in a maturing PMO environment, and can hold both the detail and the big picture at once.

Your role in Action

  • Take end-to-end accountability for assigned projects — scope, quality, time, budget, risk and benefits realisation
  • Deliver projects with business-wide implications and multiple delivery streams, managing cross-function interdependencies end to end
  • Apply the PMO's governance framework, templates and reporting standards consistently
  • Build and lead project teams drawn from across the People function and broader business
  • Manage stakeholders at all levels — executive sponsors, steering committees and functional leads — with clear, timely updates
  • Identify, monitor and actively manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies
  • Manage project financials — forecasting, tracking and reporting on Capex and Opex
  • Support smooth transition of outcomes into business-as-usual, with effective change management to drive benefits realisation
  • Contribute to the ongoing maturity of the PMO by sharing what works and improving how we deliver.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Extensive experience as a Project Manager delivering complex projects in business change, transformation or corporate environments
  • Demonstrated delivery of projects with strong business acumen, cross-function or whole-of-organisation impact, while moving at pace
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills — comfortable from Executive to frontline, across multiple disciplines
  • Strong planning, resourcing, budgeting and quality-assurance discipline across concurrent work with a demonstrated ability to translate complex inputs into clear, actionable deliverables
  • Working knowledge of industry standard project management methodology (PMBOK,  Prince2, Agile) and the ability to apply flexible methodology that aligns with the deliverable.

Desirable, Not Essential

  • Experience in People, HR or organisational change projects; operating model and/or tiered service model implementation experience; and working knowledge of 365 tool suite.
