We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Senior Psychological Risk and Wellbeing Specialist to play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing Western Power’s approach to psychological health, wellbeing, and safety. In this strategic position, you will partner with senior leaders across the business to identify, manage, and continuously improve work health and safety risks, helping create a safer, healthier, and more resilient workplace for our people.
Drawing on your specialist expertise, you will provide trusted advice and strategic direction on psychological risk management and wellbeing initiatives, influencing organisational outcomes and driving a proactive culture where people can thrive.
Your Role in Action
- Provide strategic advice and subject matter expertise to senior leaders on psychological health, psychosocial risk management, safety performance, and SHE due diligence obligations.
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide psychosocial risk programs that support Western Power's safety strategy and organisational priorities.
- Identify, assess, and monitor key psychosocial and workplace health and safety risks, ensuring robust controls and effective risk treatment strategies are in place.
- Partner with Senior Leaders and key stakeholders to strengthen consultation, influence decision-making, and embed sustainable risk management practices across the business.
- Develop and maintain psychosocial risk frameworks, tools, and governance processes that align with legislative requirements and operational realities.
- Drive the integration of psychosocial risk management into broader safety, risk, and wellbeing systems, supporting a proactive and evidence-based approach to prevention.
- Provide specialist guidance and support in response to critical incidents, helping leaders manage psychological impacts and support effective recovery outcomes.
- Build organisational capability through training, awareness initiatives, and wellbeing programs, including supporting Mental Health First Aid and key mental health campaigns.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Significant experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders on psychological health, psychosocial risk, workplace safety, and organisational change.
- Proven ability to design and deliver enterprise-wide programs that drive meaningful outcomes across risk management, wellbeing, culture, leadership, or transformation initiatives.
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead workshops, navigate complex conversations, and build trusted relationships at all levels.
- Sound knowledge of work health and safety legislation, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into practical actions and sustainable controls.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and project delivery capabilities, with a track record of driving initiatives from concept through to implementation.
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology.
