Senior Regulation Planning Specialist

Join us as a Senior Regulation Planning Specialist and help drive the successful delivery of our regulatory commitments. Working at the intersection of strategy, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory planning, you'll coordinate regulatory submissions and reviews, provide trusted advice across the business, and lead engagement with the ERA to ensure informed, transparent, and effective regulatory outcomes.

Your Role in Action  

• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of key regulatory submissions, including Access Arrangement and Allowable Revenue processes, from preparation through to post-determination activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the Economic Regulation Authority (ERA), coordinating engagement activities and ensuring timely, high-quality responses to information requests.
• Provide trusted advice and guidance to stakeholders across the business, strengthening understanding of regulatory obligations, commitments, and information requirements.
• Develop and maintain regulatory knowledge resources, supporting education, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives that promote compliance and capability uplift.
• Review, develop, and contribute to regulatory reports, submissions, and Board papers, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and organisational commitments.
• Partner with business leaders to translate regulatory requirements into practical actions that support operational and strategic objectives.
• Contribute to business planning, budgeting, and performance reporting activities, helping to drive successful regulatory and commercial outcomes.

What Makes You a Great Fit 

• Strong understanding of utility regulation and the ability to connect business decisions with regulatory outcomes and long-term organisational objectives.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, access arrangements, and allowable revenue processes, or the capability to quickly develop expertise in a complex regulatory environment.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and provide clear, practical recommendations.
• Exceptional written communication skills, including preparing, reviewing, and quality assuring high-quality reports, submissions, and stakeholder communications.
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and influence a diverse range of stakeholders, including executives, technical specialists, regulators, and external partners.
