Senior Strategy Analyst | 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract
This position will be responsible for supporting the Strategy team in strategic planning activities through our annual refresh process, conducting comprehensive market analysis, identifying key industry trends, and assessing competitive landscapes, and supporting in other high-value and high-impact strategic analysis. The position will also involve extensive meeting and workshop facilitation with a wide range of stakeholders, including Western Power Senior Leadership, with exposure to the Board of Directors.
Your Role in Action
- Prepare and contribute to Western Power’s annual strategic planning activities. This will include establishing process steps, developing workshop materials, facilitating workshops, developing high-quality final deliverables, whilst also supporting project and change management elements.
- Conduct research on the implications of changing ‘market’ (including technology, customer demand, government policy or regulatory changes etc) conditions to inform organisational decision making and inject external thinking into Western Power’s strategies.
- Partner with other functions and business units to identify opportunities that meet Western Power’s strategic requirements.
- Develop and present strategic recommendations to Western Power Senior Leadership and business unit teams.
- Collect data and collate strategic execution reports to support effective strategic execution management activities.
- Engage key stakeholders, and prepare materials for regular engagement with Western Power’s Board of Directors.
- Participate in ad hoc Strategy projects to support high-value and high-impact analysis and recommendations.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related discipline (e.g. Commerce, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Engineering). Project management qualification preferred.
- Broad and comprehensive expertise with at least 3 years of related business experience in a corporate strategy capacity in a large complex corporation or a management consulting firm. Energy and utilities industry preferred.
- Experience in developing strategies in a hypothesis-driven mode, incorporating analytical proof throughout.
- Proven ability to quickly interpret and create insight from complex information (incl. legislation, policies, economic and market related data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to present data, analysis, and insights in a clear and logical manner to a range of stakeholders.
- Strong business and commercial acumen with well-developed influencing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative approach to working with others, with the ability to build effective partnerships within own area and across the organisation.
- Exceptional proficiency with the Microsoft suite – specifically Microsoft PowerPoint.
