Senior Telecommunications System Consultant – Perth CBD Office – Permanent Full Time

As the Senior Telecommunications System Consultant, you will leverage your expertise to enhance our telecommunications operational support systems (OSS). In this role, you will drive logical design standardisation, streamline logical design configurations, and lead innovative technical initiatives. Your efforts will directly impact the effectiveness of the complex models that represent our telecommunications network, making a difference to our evolving energy sector. This role will be reporting to the Telecommunications Design Engineering Team Leader. Your Role in Action  

 

  • Drive standardised use of Telecommunications OSS tools, ensuring the quality of the configurations represented within OSS network inventories
  • Lead the response to users requesting OSS advice and support
  • Lead technical investigations and produce recommendations on new OSS technologies (including liaising with suppliers / external parties to support the implementation of system upgrades / patch updates of Telecommunications OSS)
  • Build relationships with national utilities deploying Telecommunications OSS to enhance and maintain Western Power’s Telecommunications OSS capability
  • Identify training needs, train and mentor individuals with telecommunications design responsibilities on Telecommunications OSS network inventory asset modelling functions and workflows; train Telecommunications Asset Strategy and Operational roles on network inventory asset retrieval and analysis functions
  • Maintenance of the Telecommunications OSS network inventory database to reflect ongoing changes in telecommunications design standards
  • Develop and administer Telecommunications OSS workflows internally between departments and externally so to ensure optimal use of OSS tools in the delivery of Western Power’s works programs

 

 What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Diploma in an engineering design discipline, or equivalent qualifications in digital engineering, information technology / management, business analysis, data analytics / modelling relating to Telecommunications OSS
  • Extensive and broad Telecommunications OSS experience of at least 10+ years, including relevant experience working in high performing, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong influencing, negotiating, and facilitating expertise with business and technical stakeholders to resolve competing priorities
  • Strong communication and written skills coupled with the ability to influence outcomes, while communicating technical information to non-technical audiences
