Social Performance Team Leader – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD

As the Social Performance Team Leader, you’ll guide a team of specialists in delivering social performance across major transmission projects. This role provides strategic leadership across stakeholder and community engagement, heritage approvals, social impact and social value - ensuring Western Power puts people in the heart of infrastructure project development and continues to build trusted relationships as we power the State’s sustainable future.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Manage a small team of engagement, social impact and heritage approval specialists through effective leadership, performance management and peer support.
  • Lead and manage the implementation of Western Power’s social performance framework for transmission energy transition projects through providing specialist services and advice on
  • Stakeholder and community engagement
  • Social impact and value assessments, management and monitoring Heritage approvals and protecting culture
  • Understand and provide technical advice as required on Western Power’s legal and regulatory obligations related to all heritage, social performance and engagement activities.
  • Drive improvement in Western Power’s relationship with stakeholders and provide internal strategic advice on managing complex and contentious social and heritage issues.
  • Drive internal awareness and acceptance of Western Power’s social performance approach and act as an advocate of protecting culture and stakeholder insights being embedded into decision making.
  • Develop cross divisional relationships and alignment across the business.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain valued relationships with internal and external stakeholders including creating and nurturing advocates to support Western Power’s growth and success.
  • Manage and monitor the utilisation of assigned budgets and resources in consideration of affordable outcomes for our customers.
  • Manage and monitor social impact reporting and data in consideration of Western Power’s objectives.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Social Sciences, Social Planning, Marketing, or related discipline
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise with at least 10+ years’ experience in delivering engagement and/or social performance programs in mining, construction and/or large infrastructure programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a professional team to achieve business goals
  • Demonstrated ability to execute large, complex programs of work with the ability to provide significant guidance, advice, and counsel
  • Strong stakeholder management skills both within and outside of the organisation, with the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills and exposure to risk management and governance processes
  • Highly developed analytical skills required to be applied to complex organisational challenges and opportunities.
