Stand-Alone Power Systems Technician

The Stand-alone Power Systems (SPS) Area is responsible for the preparation and management of the SPS program development and deployment.

As the Stand-alone Power Systems Technician, you will be responsible for performing complex technical tasks including the commissioning and maintenance of Western Power SPS units.

 

Your Role in Action 

 

  • Validate as required and within levels of proficiency site acceptance testing (SAT) and factory acceptance testing (FAT) against Western Power technical requirements, applicable Australian Standards, and design & commissioning documentation (including ITP’s, ITR’s).
  • Carry out audits on primary and secondary plant within the SPS system fleet for quality and compliance.
  • Assist with investigations on methods or processes of work, plant and equipment usage, incidents, or accidents, to achieve commercially competitive standards for safety, quality, service delivery, and cost and customer satisfaction.
  • Respond to customer and stakeholder enquiries, keep them informed of project progress, clearly communicate obligations, and deliver based on available resources, plant, and equipment.
  • Maintain a nimble and flexible schedule adaptable to changing conditions, priorities, and resources.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

 

  • Cert III Electrotechnology
  • Current unrestricted WA Electrical Workers License
  • A minimum of 7 to 10 years specialist technical experience within required discipline or experience with Networks, commercial or industrial electrical work.
  • Hold all appropriate industry licences or certificates of competency required to perform the role
    Demonstrated technical experience in advanced electrical systems e.g. Instrumentation, alternative power supply or secondary systems.
  • Electrical rules, regulations and associated acts and standards.
  • Resource management experience.
  • Coaching and mentoring experience
  • MS Office systems, Word, Excel & or Access. MIMS, DOCS, and other specialist applications.
  • Customers engagement or service industry.
  • Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A
