Team leader, Grid Project Development – Perth CBD – Permanent Full time

As Team Leader, Grid Project Development, you'll lead a high-performing team responsible for developing and justifying major network and non-network investments that improve customer outcomes and support the energy transition. This role sits at the intersection of asset planning, project development, commercial analysis and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for experienced leaders from engineering, project management, infrastructure, asset management or investment backgrounds.
Your Role in Action
- Lead a specialist team responsible for developing strategic network and non-network investment opportunities from concept through to investment approval. Manage the development of robust business cases, options analyses and investment proposals that balance technical, commercial, financial and customer outcomes.
- Partner with engineering, planning, finance, delivery and operational teams to develop practical and commercially sound option analysis and proposals.
- Sponsor significant projects and programs through execution, ensuring investment value is realised and business objectives are achieved.
- Ensure investment development activities align with regulatory requirements, governance frameworks and long-term network strategies whilst identifying opportunities to improve investment processes and support innovative network and non-network solutions that contribute to the energy transition.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members, fostering a high-performing culture focused on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement. Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders across the business to influence strategic outcomes.
What Makes You a Great Fit
We're interested in hearing from leaders who have experience in project development, engineering, infrastructure delivery, investment management, asset management or related disciplines.
- Strong hands-on experience developing business cases, investment proposals, infrastructure projects or major programs. Demonstrated commercial and financial acumen, including options analysis, risk assessment and investment decision support.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at senior leadership and executive levels.
- Experience operating within regulated, asset-intensive or infrastructure-focused industries.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical, commercial or strategic concepts into clear recommendations.
- A track record of developing high-performing teams and building capability through coaching and leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in one or more of the following areas will be highly regarded:
- Electrical Engineering Degree with eligibility towards CPEng status by Engineers Australia
(preferred, but not essential) - Project Management across full project life-cycle
- Asset Management and Infrastructure Development
- Business, Commerce, Finance or Investment Management
