Telecommunications Engineer – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD

In this role, you’ll apply your expertise to plan, design, manage projects, and oversee the installation and commissioning of cutting-edge communications facilities for Western Power and our valued customers.

Your Role in Action
- Undertake specialist telecommunications design and engineering work as outlined under the role purpose.
- Identify, evaluate and recommend technical and engineering process and system improvements;
- Deliver services to commercially competitive standards for technical excellence, safety, environmental quality, cost and customer satisfaction;
- Operate commercially and competitively in meeting quality, time and budget standards;
- Drive value in the business and ensure delivery of risk managed outputs;
- Investigate, recommend and adopt industry best practice for client or work areas;
- Comply with all legal and contracting requirements
- Provide scheduling plans or advice to support the work of other Front Line employees or contractors.
- Coordinate or support technical work across other work groups.
- Building strong relationships with team members, business partners and external parties, and provide a high level of customer focus.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Eligibility for corporate membership of Engineers Australia
- Preferably 4-6 years’ experience in a multi-disciplined power engineering role in a electricity network business
- Sound knowledge of the system design for two or more of –
- Fixed & Mobile Radio (VHF-SHF);
- Cable Carrier Systems (Metallic/Optical Fibre);
- Multiplexer Networks / MPLS Networks;
- Operational IP Networks
- Teleprotection systems;
- Supervisory systems
