  • Lead delivery of the Work Practices Program and priority work practice packages to agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality and implementation requirements.

  • Lead the identification and mapping of prescribed activities and establish clear alignment between work practices, training, competency, authorisation and verification requirements.

  • Provide governance and decision-making leadership for work practices and supporting safe systems of work, drawing on specialist advice to translate electrical safety, WHS, technical and operational requirements into practical requirements for prescribed activities.

  • Ensure work practices include the required critical risk controls, reflect how work is performed and provide clear, practical direction to workers and supervisors.

  • Establish clear alignment between work practices and the information, instruction, training, supervision, competency and authorisation requirements that support their implementation.

  • Lead multidisciplinary consultation with operational, technical, engineering, training, contractor and SHE stakeholders to test advice and establish clear enterprise decisions for work practices.

  • Establish arrangements to verify that work practices are implemented, remain adequate for the prescribed activities and are reviewed when work, risks, legislation or technical requirements change.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Tertiary qualification in safety, engineering, project management, business or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of relevant experience and knowledge

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary professional or technical teams in a complex, high-risk operational environment.

  • Significant experience developing, governing or implementing operational work practices, safe systems of work, technical standards or operational procedures.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex enterprise projects or programs and delivering agreed scope, schedule, budget, quality and benefits.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate legislative, technical and operational requirements into practical, clear and usable frontline requirements.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills, including the ability to resolve competing requirements and reach agreed outcomes.

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret specialist technical advice, identify unresolved risk or conflicting requirements, make sound decisions within role authority and escalate matters where technical or enterprise authority approval is required.

  • Demonstrated capability in governance, resource planning, risk and issue management, change implementation, reporting and contractor management.
