Field Supervisor - Picton

In this role, you will be Responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of operational field crews in conducting planned and unplanned network activities to ensures all assigned field-based work is completed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.
This position is at Picton Depot supervising crews at Picton and Collie Depots.
Your Role in Action
- Coach safety representatives, prepare and present at safety meetings and practice safe work principles.
- Arrange site inductions for crews and contractors.
- Take accountability for safety in the work environment for yourself and others by ensuring the teams and contractors follow safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment that is monitored through an onsite presence.
- Ensure workers have required competencies to perform the tasks ·
- Evaluate and accept 4-7 week works packages from Works Program and Planning
- Develop and prepare work execution plans.
- Distribute on-site work activities to teams, ensuring that the workload is appropriately distributed.
- Responsible for review and sign off for all time sheets, including approving overtime hours to be worked and validating hours registered on the time sheets.
- Conduct on site safety inspections and provide coaching and mentoring to teams.
- Conduct on-site inspections and quality assurance tasks to ensure that work undertaken by Western Power teams and contractors is consistent with organisation policies and standards.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Relevant and current trade-based qualification in a discipline such as Distribution / Transmission Overhead Certificate 3 Distribution
- At least 10 to 12 years demonstrated, extensive and broad technical experience in networks or transmission/distribution industry, including appropriate licenses or certificates of competency
- Highly developed teamwork and customer focus skills
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation and execution of operation plans
- A sound knowledge of networks construction maintenance and operations field practices
- Incident investigation skills and sound knowledge of WHS Regulations.
- Highly developed teamwork and customer focus skills
- Advanced written, verbal and report writing skills
- Experience in negotiation, conflict resolution and managing
- public and stakeholder relations
- Computer literate: Ellipse, MS Office suite -Word, Excel,
- PowerPoint
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
