Engineering Team Leader (Customer Connection Service) – South Metro Depot - Permanent
The Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for directing, coaching and supporting a team of technical network engineers and designers to ensure Western Power can meet its Code obligations to connect customers and relocate assets in a timely manner. Provide escalation support for both complex technical and customer queries as well as implement Western Power’s strategic intent through effective leadership and people management skills. This role leads a distribution design team focused on residential connections ranging from individual homes to large multi-story developments and is pivotal in enabling Western Power to meet its objectives.
This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.
Your Role in Action
- Lead a team of technical network engineers and designers to ensure Western Power can meet its Code obligations to connect customers and relocate assets in a timely manner.
- Provide the necessary leadership and management to ensure both self and individuals within the team have all the necessary facilities and support to achieve zero harm in the workplace.
- Manage the performance outputs of each direct report in line with the organisational performance management framework, processes and systems provided.
- Provide guidance and support to team members for complex and/or challenging projects to ensure individuals can achieve their position objectives.
- Develop and implement sound staffing strategies to ensure team productivity and requisite work output can be maintained.
- Provide technical and people leadership support to the Area Manager as required.
- Lead and implement all required corporate initiatives.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Degree in Engineering, eligible for Professional Engineer membership (MIEAust) with Engineers Australia.
- Significant relevant work experience in electrical network engineering & design.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team of people within a technical or professional field.
- Strong customer orientation and customer service experience.
- Strong leadership, influencing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated people management skills with an ability to motivate and lead successful engineering teams.
