Field Operations Team Leader – South Metro Depot – 12 month Maximum Term
To provide leadership of operational teams through the effective management of resources, finances, plant, and equipment to deliver maintenance, repair, construction, overhauls, commissioning, operation, and emergency response services for internal and external customers.
To ensure the efficient delivery and execution of field operational and that are consistent with commercially competitive standards for safety, quality, service delivery, and cost and customer satisfaction.
This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.
Your Role in Action
- Manage the efficient and effective use of resources, plant, and equipment, to achieve both short- and long-term operational cost-effective work program and work-stream deliverables & KPIs
- Provide operational leadership and ensure the right levels of trained resources are available to meet operational needs
- Accountable to provide a safe work environment and enhance employee and contractor Occupational Health and Safety adherence
- Accountable for ensuring allocated work and projects are programmed to achieve deadlines through optimum use of resources to achieve improved operational efficiencies
- Accountable for maintaining expenditure within cost estimates and assigned budgets
- Accountable for the provision of services to internal and external customers
- Provide technical guidance and coaching of teams to build strong, direct relationships and internal skills · Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, both internal and external
- Build a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation within the team
What Makes You a Great Fit
- A relevant Trade Qualification or diploma or tertiary qualification
- Technical experience in a relevant area (e.g. telecommunications, transmission, distribution, protection, and fleet maintenance management (fleet maintenance management applicable to only fleet personnel)), including at least six years’ experience in supervising or managing field operations and fleet service (where applicable) and employees
- Demonstrated capabilities and experience in leading and managing a diversified operational workforce in multiple locations
- Proven ability to successfully manage health, safety, and environment issues
- Demonstrated people management skills with an ability to motivate and lead successful operational teams
- Proven communication skills that enable effective interaction between key stakeholders
- A good understanding of risk and compliance management and its application in the business
