Roster: 8:6 Drive In Drive Out
Allowances: Up to and additional $4,600 per four-week roster
Rates: Starting $56 – 69+ per hour + allowances + 13.5% Superannuation
Join Western Power and help power a cleaner energy future for Western Australia. We’re implementing a new Drive In – Drive Out strategy for our North Operational Maintenance Area and are seeking experienced local Perth Lineworkers to be part of this exciting opportunity.
We’re a stable, growing company investing in modernising the state’s energy network. This permanent role starts February 2026 and offers strong career pathways plus an 8:6 roster for great work-life balance. You’ll enjoy consistency, time at home, and meaningful hands-on work across regional WA.
As part of our Operational East DIDO team, you’ll travel from South Metro Depot (Forrestdale) to Central Eastern depots in Western Power vehicles, working 150 hours over a four-week roster.
Your role in Action
- Responding to and rectifying faults promptly to minimise supply disruptions.
- Working with locally based crews on planned and unplanned maintenance works.
- Completing construction and maintenance work to Western Power standards.
- Maintaining and developing core line skills in line with evolving industry requirements.
- Participating in pre-job planning to ensure safety and reliability.
- Working outdoors in varying conditions with appropriate safety measures.
- Upholding excellent customer relations when interacting with the public.
What makes you a great fit
- People who are comfortable working away from home (please note assessments will form part of the recruitment and selection process)
- Certificate III in ESI – Power System Distribution Overhead (or equivalent).
- Valid WA ‘HR’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Proven experience in construction and maintenance of distribution electricity networks.
- HOU and LOU Switching experience (highly regarded but not essential).
- HC driver’s licence (highly regarded but not essential)
- Crane licence (highly regarded but not essential)
