Lineworker

As a Lineworker, you’ll ensure our community has a safe and reliable electricity supply by constructing and maintaining transmission and distribution networks. You’ll respond quickly to faults to minimise disruptions, deliver high-quality work, and adapt to evolving industry standards. Working in various conditions, you’ll plan and execute tasks safely and efficiently while maintaining positive customer interactions.

 

This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.

 

Remuneration & Allowances: This role is covered under the CEPU Agreement and offers an attractive hourly base rate ranging from $56.00 to $66.52 per hour, dependent on qualifications and authorisations held. In addition, employees receive a site allowance of $2.50 per hour applied to all hours worked. An additional allowance is payable to employees participating in the Availability Roster, in accordance with the Agreement. This package reflects our commitment to rewarding skills, experience, and flexibility.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Construct and maintain in a team environment the transmission and/or distribution electricity network to maintain the integrity of the network in a safe, reliable and affordable manner to ensure an uninterrupted supply to customers and within all applicable guidelines and regulations.
  • Rectifying faults promptly and isolate the network for repairs to maintain the integrity of the network and minimise customer impact.
  • Execute programmed construction and maintenance work to ensure safe, reliable, and affordable operation of the network.
  • Construct network infrastructure according to design specifications and construction standards. Deal with day-to-day technical issues that can arise, on site, relating to design and construction issues

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

 

  • Certificate III in ESI – Power System Distribution Overhead – essential.
  • Or – New Zealand Electricity Supply (Distribution) Minimum Level 4.
  • Valid WA ‘HR’ Class Drivers Licence.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in the construction and maintenance of the distribution electricity network.
  • HOU and LOU Switching is highly regarded but not essential.
