 Senior Distribution Customer Consultant – South Metro Depot – Permanent

 

This position is accountable for driving the successful development and maintenance of effective relationships between Western Power and our distribution customers to enable the organisation to meet business objectives and deliver on its Corporate Strategy.

 

This position is responsible for providing strategic insights and recommendations to leadership to guide decision-making and continuous improvement, including supporting Western Powers energy transition and evolving customer needs.

 

This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Develop and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key distribution customers, representing Western Power acting as the primary point of contact for senior and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Lead regular engagement meetings with customers to understand their evolving needs, address concerns, and strengthen trust.
  • Develop and execute strategies to provide high level advice and actionable insights to enhance customer experience across energy connection touchpoints, leveraging stakeholder engagement, feedback mechanisms, and customer insights to drive service delivery and program improvements.
  • Provide strategic advisory and insights to senior leadership to help influence business-wide decisions.
  • Provide professional advice regarding the effective management of customer relationships, ensuring outcomes consistent with strategic and functional priorities.
  • Provide guidance on risk mitigation strategies in a diverse and often challenging commercial, technical and regulatory environment.
  • Contribute to and support the safety, health, environmental & community programs, ensuring customer considerations are integrated into broader organisational initiatives.
  • Proactively analyse feedback and performance data to detect service gaps to identify opportunities to improve customer service and contribute towards developing remedial actions to prevent dissatisfaction or issues escalation.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Project Management, or related discipline; or lesser qualification coupled with significant industry specific experience.
  • Significant experience managing a large and diverse portfolio of key customers and senior and executive level stakeholders and the ability to resolve complex issues while achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in project delivery within the energy sector, with an understanding of electrical infrastructure.
  • Highly motivated with exceptional influencing abilities, outstanding communication skills and strong interpersonal capability to build trust and drive collaboration across all levels.
  • Strong experience in written and verbal communication of a professional standard.
  • Strong organisation and time management abilities to manage competing priorities.
