Senior Insight Analyst – 12 Month Maximum Term  – South Metro Depot

 

Your role works collaboratively with stakeholders across the Function and the broader Western Power organisation to develop, embed, and enhance insights that enable informed decision‑making and support organisational value creation.

 

Your role ensures that operational and strategic considerations are effectively incorporated into business processes and the design and delivery of initiatives, projects, and programs. It supports the function by analysing performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and value, and contributing to the optimisation of Operational Maintenance to deliver sustainable outcomes.

 

You will be based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.

 

Regional travel within WA will be required in the role.  

 

 

Your Role in Action  

 

  • Identify information needs and gaps and develop fit-for-purpose analytics-based strategic, functional and operational insights that translate into actionable and implementable improvements.
  • Provide subject matter expert advice and guidance by applying a financial lens to operational analytics, delivering intelligent modelling and insight generation to address key business questions and align with operational, functional and corporate strategy.
  • Lead analytical capability improvement through collaboration, transforming data and information into meaningful insights, and driving innovation through creative thinking, new approaches and leading by example.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across intra and inter-functional level to convert insights into deliverable improvements and operational change, applying process improvement and change management methodologies.
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing initiatives that enhance cost efficiency and productivity, and improve accuracy, efficiency and automation of financial and performance reporting.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs, delivering timely and valuable business intelligence, often with limited notice or incomplete information.
  • Conduct systematic data analysis using incomplete, complex or ambiguous data sets to inform insight development.
  • Design and deliver highly-quality, engaging data-driven outputs, including interactive dashboards, written reports and presentation materials that clearly communicate actionable operational and performance insights to the Senior Leadership Team and other key stakeholders.

 

What Makes You a Great Fit

 

  • Must possess a degree qualification in an analytical or quantitative discipline (e.g. Business/Commerce, Management/ Financial Accounting, Statistics, Marketing).
  • Seasoned professional with at least 8 to 10 years’ technical expertise and knowledge in the field of data analytics including reporting and insights preferably in a corporate/commercial/operational environment.
  • Proven business / process improvement skills. Ability to align detail orientated tasks with the "big picture" and communicate accordingly.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong working relationships at all levels of an organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise people and resources towards the effective and efficient pursuit of predetermined goals and objectives both operational and strategic.
  • Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills, complimented by advanced influencing skills.
  • Strong business acumen, expert analytical skills and significant experience working with best practice financial reporting systems and standards.
  • Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
