Team Coordinator – 12 Months Fixed-Term – South Metro Depot
The Team Coordinator will be responsible to plan and take a lead role in coordinating onsite work activities enabling teams to construct and maintain the transmission and/or distribution electricity network in a safe, reliable, and affordable manner to ensure an uninterrupted supply to customers.
This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.
Your Role in Action
- Take accountability for safety in the work environment; ensure safe working practices are followed, attend safety training, and ensure that team members follow all safety procedures at all times.
- Be responsible for ensuring that the teams are meeting the required performance each day, in the completion of work. Work cooperatively within the teams and across Western Power.
- Receive, evaluate, and prepare work parcels for implementation. Schedule internal/external resources required to perform work. Notify customers in advance of work where power supply is impacted.
- Execute programmed construction and maintenance work to ensure safe, reliable, and affordable operation of the network.
- Undertake a coordination role for emergency response situations, including undertaking tasks within your competency and training.
- Take personal accountability for work performance and be open to other contributions. Work collaboratively within the team and across Western Power to effectively deliver objectives. Maintain open communication with team members and stakeholders.
- Take a lead in ensuring good customer relations are upheld when working in the field especially where there is direct contact with the public or stakeholders.
- Challenge yourself, ask questions, and apply theory learned to practical on the job experiences. Share knowledge and experiences gained in the workplace, classroom, and community group activities with others.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems Distribution /Transmission Overhead or Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems Distribution Cable Jointing.
- Valid WA ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence (subject to business requirements).
- Training in and solid performance through to Level 7 as per local business requirements, including maintaining HV/LV switching authorities where required.
- Relevant Network Authorisation including Construction industry white card and Basic Emergency Life Support etc. (must be obtained within the first month of employment).
- Leadership and Management (L&M).
- BSBLDR413 Lead effective workplace relationships.
- BSBXTW401 Lead and facilitate a team.
- BSBLDR414 Lead team effectiveness.
- BSBWHS411 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures, and programs to meet legislative requirements.
- RIIBER402D Supervise on site operations (site supervision).
- Work Health and Safety (WHS) units.
- BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management.
- BSBWHS415 Contribute to implementing WHS management systems.
