This is an exciting opportunity for a Lineworker on a Permanent Full-Time Basis at our Kewdale Depot.
As a Lineworker, you are required to construct and maintain in a team environment the transmission and/or distribution electricity network to maintain the integrity of the network in a safe, reliable and affordable manner to ensure an uninterrupted supply to customers and within all applicable guidelines and regulations.
Remuneration & Allowances
This role is covered under the CEPU Agreement and offers an attractive hourly base rate ranging from $56.00 to $66.52 per hour, dependent on qualifications and authorisations held. In addition, employees receive a site allowance of $2.50 per hour applied to all hours worked. An additional allowance is payable to employees participating in the Availability Roster, in accordance with the Agreement.

- Be responsible for safety in the work environment and ensure safe work practises are followed and a safe work environment maintained.
- Rectifying faults promptly and isolate the network for repairs so as to maintain the integrity of the network and minimise customer impact.
- Execute programmed construction and maintenance work to ensure safe, reliable and affordable operation of the network.
- Construct network infrastructure according to design specifications and construction standards. Deal with day to day technical issues that can arise, on site, relating to design and construction issues
- Take personal accountability for work performance and be open to others contributions. Work collaboratively within the team and across Western Power to effectively deliver objectives.
- Demonstrate personal behaviours in line with business values, codes, standards and expectations
- Assist with building team capability and providing and sharing technical knowledge and experience to others within the team of lesser experience
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems Distribution / Transmission Overhead
- Or – New Zealand Electricity Supply (Distribution) Minimum Level 4 - Essential
- Demonstrated industry experience in the construction and maintenance of transmission and/or distribution electricity network
- Demonstrated industry experience in leading operational teams in the construction and maintenance of transmission and/or distribution electricity network
- Relevant Network Authorisation including Construction industry white card and Basic Emergency Life Support
- Minimum MR license
- Glove and Barrier is highly regarded but not essential
- HOU and LOU Switching is highly regarded but not essential
- LV XLPE Cable Jointing is highly regarded but not essential
