Transmission Substation Scheduler – Permanent – South Metro Depot
The Transmission Substation Scheduler is responsible for the preparation for, work scheduling and coordination of project and maintenance activities, within budget and time constraints within designated CAPEX or OPEX portfolio.
The position is responsible for the creation and coordination of execution packages, inclusive of work breakdown structures, day-to-day work staging and resource allocation utilising the relevant scheduling tool.
This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.
Your Role in Action
- Support the estimation of man-hours required for various projects and maintenance activities, ensuring accurate resource scheduling and allocation to optimize project timelines and operational efficiency.
- Support the senior schedulers in creating and maintaining detailed project schedules for asset expansion,
- maintenance, and replacement activities including but limited to:

- Switchable sections / outage group and network permit
- Maximising on resources utilisation to reduce outages switchable section
- Multi-discipline resource scheduling
- Synchronised outage opportunities
- Collaborate with own team members and operational crews, including project managers and engineers, to gather information necessary for accurate scheduling and alignment of project timelines.
- Track the progress of scheduled activities and liaise any delays or issues to senior schedulers to ensure timely resolution.
- Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day scheduling inquiries and provide updates to team members and other stakeholders on project and maintenance activities.
- Attend regular scheduling and project meetings to contribute insights and take notes on action items for follow-up.
- Maintain scheduling databases and assist in preparing reports on project timelines, resource allocations, and scheduling impacts.
- Assist in identifying potential scheduling conflicts and support senior schedulers in developing strategies to resolve them.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Must possess a relevant trade or other applicable industry qualifications.
- Strong scheduling skills and experience preferably in a similar industry.
- Previous exposure to negotiation, conflict resolution and managing stakeholder relations.
- Sound experience with a good basic knowledge of the transmission network or similar industries, assets, and its requirements for scheduling work.
- Experience with relevant software/applications for scheduling activities.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, complimented by a desire to develop influencing/negotiation skills.
- A desire to implement change and innovation, both internally and via contract arrangements.
- Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’.
