We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Cable Jointer at our South Metro Depot on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

 

This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters, the depot offers an excellent on-site café, shuttle bus to-and-from the Cockburn Train Station, end of trip facilities including secure bicycle storage and freshening up rooms. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.


About this role

As the Cable Jointer, you will be required to construct and maintain in a team environment the underground transmission and/or distribution electricity network in a safe, reliable, and affordable manner which will ensure supply to customers

 

At the Q1 level the application of multiple post trade qualification will be required in line with core competencies, values and behaviours outlined in this position description and framework
 

  • Construct network infrastructure according to design specifications and construction standards.
  • Deal with day-to-day technical issues that can arise, on site, relating to design and construction issues
  • Execute programmed construction and maintenance work to ensure safe, reliable and affordable operation of the network. Maintain effective relationships with customers and public
  • Ensure prompt attendance to faults and isolate the network for repairs to maintain the integrity of the network and minimise customer impact
  •  On-site management of customers, traffic and public
  • Assist with building team capability and providing and sharing technical knowledge and experience to others within the team of lesser experience


About you

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

 

  • Certificate III in ESI – Power System Distribution Cable Jointing or equivalent
  • Valid WA ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence (subject to business requirements)
  • Demonstrated industry experience in the construction and maintenance of transmission and/or distribution electricity network
