The Distribution Program Management Team Leader is responsible for leading and developing a team of professionals, who are accountable for the optimal delivery (Scoping) of a high-volume Distribution program of assigned volumetric work bundles and projects.  This leadership role is critical to ensuring clear expectations are set and that the team is held accountable for the required outcomes, quality, delivery, and stakeholder satisfaction.

 

This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.

 

Your Role in Action  

 

This position will be required to provide technical leadership within the Team to successfully drive and deliver:

 

  • Be accountable for managing the delivery implementation of assigned work bundles and projects, including responsibility for ensuring that scope, schedule, quality, time, and budget targets are met and for managing the associated risks and issues for a distribution program of works (Scoping).
  • Provide clear technical advice, expertise and direction to the team and has overall responsibility for organising allocated resources to achieve required delivery outcomes.
  • Maintain optimum utilisation of delivery resources to meet stakeholder milestones.
  • Lead and influence collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of program of works.
  • Effectively utilise scheduling tools ensuring capacity, resources, skills, and project requirements are thoroughly understood to ensure over-sight of overall schedule is visible and accessible, with the ability to forecast efficiently.
  • Understand the complexity of works and the impacts they may have on the current environment, as well as reputational impact to Western Power.

 

 What Makes You a Great Fit 

 

  • Professionally qualified in project or program management (e.g. PgMP, MSP) and at least 10 years of associated technical experience preferably within an electrical or utilities environment.
  • Degree qualified in relevant focus areas (e.g. business administration, project/program management, contract management or engineering) or trade qualified coupled with Diploma of Frontline Management and significant relevant industry experience.
  • Extensive experience in managing teams of multi-disciplined professional employees with superior and strong organisational and technical leadership skill and a detailed understanding of business issues.
  • Extensive program and project management knowledge and experience, preferably within an engineering and/or construction environment, including a high-level understanding of technical concepts that contribute to delivering the desired works program outcomes.
  • Demonstrated industry knowledge and experience of scoping, scheduling and reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage health, safety, and environment requirements, coupled with an understanding of risk and compliance management and its application in the business.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships within a corporate environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to produce high quality outputs and present complex concepts. Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing, and motivating people and changing behaviour.
