We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Power Systems Protection Technician, on a permanent full-time basis.

 

This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters, the depot offers an excellent on-site café, end of trip facilities including secure bicycle storage and freshening up rooms. About this role

 

As the Power Systems Protection Technician, you will be required to carry out Protection Maintenance activities with a low to moderate level of technical complexity associated with the Transmission and Distribution Power System Protection Systems both within and external to the Western Power Business.

 

About you

 

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

 

  • Must have an unrestricted electrical worker’s license (WA Electrician’s Licence) – essential.
  • At least 4 + years or more experience in the field protection environment relative to maintenance and commissioning activities
  • A reasonable understanding of operational Transmission and Distribution power systems.
  • Previous experience in the Power Utility industry.
  • Basic knowledge of power system Secondary equipment commissioning practices.
  • Basic knowledge of power system Secondary equipment maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge and compliance with Safety regulations and practices.
  • Computer literacy
  • Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’
