We currently have an exciting opportunity for a SCADA Field Technician at our South Metro Depot on a Permanent Full-Time basis.

 

This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters, the depot offers an excellent on-site café, end of trip facilities including secure bicycle storage and freshening up rooms. About this role

 

As a SCADA Field Technician, you will be required to provide high level of technical services and coordinate tasks at a complex level of technical requirements for the real-time support and maintenance functions in all operational areas of SCADA Field Telemetry.

 

About You

 

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

 

  • Advance diploma in a electrotechnology (or equivalent)
  • At least 3 years’ SCADA experience and or broad industry experience in a real-time, telemetered, secondary systems design, commissioning, or maintenance role
  • Specialist technical experience in the following.
    • SCADA systems, including systems administration, database administration, software configuration, system performance and fault investigation and reparation including metering and field transducer reparations
    • Substation secondary systems components including RTU components, HMI’s, PLC’s and other related SCADA telemetry and communications equipment
    • Sound knowledge of relevant SCADA telemetry protocols
    • Strong working knowledge of the application, testing and installation of protection, communications and RTU equipment
    • Competency in IP Based systems and problem solving.
  • Technical experience in a Utility/Networks business, especially within the SCADA area
  • Sound knowledge of Continuous improvement, training, and coaching techniques
  • MS Office systems, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access. Ellipse, EDM, and other specialist applications
  • Experience dealing with external customers
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills
