Technical Planning Analyst – Permanent Full-time – South Metro Depot
The purpose of this position is to manage, plan and coordinate complex transmission work with the relevant Western Power stakeholders within the relevant projects and/or maintenance portfolio.
This will be achieved through ensuring network outages are coordinated and optimised and in-depth technical review of scope of works are performed within various transmission programs across either projects and/or maintenance work streams and to identify potential network clashes to the relevant stakeholders for coordination.
The position will be responsible for managing the coordination of either the projects and/or maintenance work staging with all relevant stakeholders, directly liaising with Operations, Network Operations and Project Management teams to identify and report on dependencies, secure outages to ensure the 2-year work plan is deliverable and all technical risks are identified and/or mitigated within the projects and/or maintenance program.
This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. Your Role in Action
- Manage, plan and coordinate complex transmission work required for outages and staging with all relevant stakeholders within Western Power.
- Review & approve CAPEX or OPEX estimates, produce deliverable work breakdown structure, plan and coordinate project staging and ensure all dependencies are identified.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure the transmission work plans are up-to-date and deliverable.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate work program/network risks, by direct liaison with all relevant stakeholders across Western Power, as well as major external customers.
- Perform site visits as and when required.
- Direct coordination with various Operational Teams on relevant CAPEX or OPEX portfolio outages to ensure work plan is deliverable.
- Creation and maintenance of high-quality CAPEX or OPEX project work breakdown structures based on project estimates and work staging ensuring all dependencies are identified.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Relevant tertiary or trade-based qualifications with extensive knowledge and experience preferably within an electrical background, or a qualification in Project Management or Construction Management
- Advanced knowledge and experience in planning and or coordinating complex work programs
- Minimum 6 + years onsite management experience, specifically in Transmission electrical work and or scheduling
- In-depth knowledge of Transmission Network assets and work practices
- In-depth knowledge and ability to interpret Transmission Electrical Drawings
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, complimented by a desire to develop influencing/negotiation skills
- Interaction with others is primarily concerned with influencing, developing and motivating people and changing behaviour
- Strong experience with Microsoft office suite and project management systems are essential
