Technical Scheduling Specialist

At Western Power, we’re looking for a skilled Technical Scheduler Specialist to manage and optimize our daily operations, from straightforward tasks to complex, multi-day overhead projects within Western Power’s Overhead Distribution Network
This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.
Your Role in Action
- Planning and organizing day-to-day Volumetric or Reactive work, from minor overhead maintenance tasks to multi-day Overhead network upgrade projects.
- Breaking down large projects into manageable daily activities to ensure smooth execution.
- Creating detailed execution packages with work breakdown structures (WBS), managed through advanced scheduling tools.
- Scheduling and sequencing projects effectively to optimize resources and minimize disruptions.
- Ensuring compliance with Western Power's health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.
- Managing documentation in line with our document management system processes.
- Coordinating with teams to meet RIS deadlines, maximize internal resource utilization, and arrange secondary team support as needed.
- Proactively managing stakeholders upstream and downstream to align goals and communication.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Industry experience in overhead Distribution or Transmission power networks.
- Relevant tertiary or trade-based qualifications, preferably with an electrical background.
- A deep understanding of distribution network assets, construction methods, and design work practices.
- Familiarity with Western Power's or equivalent management systems like DQM, Cognos, Ellipse, WSMS, and SpidaWeb.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to develop influencing and negotiation capabilities.
- Proven organizational skills to manage people and resources effectively.
- A passion for driving change and fostering innovation within teams and through contract arrangements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
