We currently have exciting opportunities for Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanics and Mechanical Fitters at multiple locations including but not limited to: Albany, Kewdale, Narrogin, Picton, and our brand-new South Metro Depot in Forrestdale.


About this role

 

As a Mechanical Tradesperson at Western Power, you will be required to contribute to the maintenance of Western Power’s heavy vehicle and mobile plant fleet by maintaining high safety standards, scheduled and breakdown maintenance, ensuring availability of the fleet for utilisation in Western Power’s operations Assist in unplanned events and out of the ordinary situations to keep Field Operations work on schedule and potential impacts on large customer base. (Drive operate support vehicles and plant in fault situations)


About you

 

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

 

  • Base Trade qualification (AQF3) in Heavy Duty Mechanical applications – Heavy automotive / plant mechanical (mobile plant)
  • Demonstrated industry experience as a Heavy vehicle / Mobile Plant Mechanic
  • Experienced in diagnosis and repair of hydraulics / low voltage electrical.
  • Highly developed teamwork skills – Must be able to work as part of a high performing team.
  • Valid WA ‘C’ class licence (essential)
  • Valid WA ‘HR’ Driver’s License (Desirable)
  • High Risk licence class EWP (Desirable)
  • High Risk licence class Dogging (Desirable)
  • High Risk licence class Forklift (Desirable)
  • Motor Vehicle Repairer’s Certificate classes HVW and LVW (willing to obtain with first 6-months)
