This is a unique and exciting time to be a part of the Customer Connection Services team at Western Power, we are at the forefront of the energy transition in leveraging existing and new technologies, including microgrid, stand-alone power systems (SPS), battery storage solutions and incorporating increased levels of renewable energy such as roof top solar into the energy system. Our customers include residents, small to large business, electrical consultants, local and state government, land developers and large industrial businesses.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager at our Perth Office /South Metro Depot for a 12-month Maximum Term Full Time basis.

 


About this role

 

As the Project Manager, you will be accountable for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring that these are delivered to agreed criteria, with commercially competitive standards for safety, cost, timeliness, quality, and scope and customer satisfaction consistent with company strategy, commitments and goals.

 

This position will manage and deliver primarily large scale complex / high value / high visibility and reputational impact / multi stream projects with a project duration of one or more years that provide cost effective solutions in line with customer and stakeholder requirements and expectations.

 


About you 

 

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

 

  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or similar; degree qualified will be highly regarded.
  • Broad and extensive Project Management knowledge with a minimum of 8 years demonstrated experience; electrical engineering in a business change/transformation environment will be highly regarded.
  • A successful record of delivering complex, large value, high risk projects within a constrained timeframe across broad stakeholder groups.
  • Detailed working knowledge of Project Management methods, tools, and systems within structured frameworks such as PMBoK or Prince2.
  • Experience planning and managing resources across multiple projects and teams within a matrixed organisation.
  • High level of business acumen including strategic planning, commercial, and leadership skills.
  • Capable of interacting with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in a professional manner to influence outcomes. 
  • Ability to manage risks and opportunities in a flexible, fast-paced environment.
