Project Network Officer

The Power Quality PNO is responsible for investigating and resolving network problems associated with LV and HV supply, including power quality, network faults and switching requirements. You will be responsible for scheduling technical works focusing on the priorities of varying sections of the business and coordinating resources to meet planned outputs. This is in addition to providing technical advice to Formal Leader, Work Groups to deliver work Safely, reliably and efficiently.
Your role in Action
- To investigate complex network problems associated with LV and HV supply, including electric shocks and customer complaints regarding power quality factors to identify and analyse root cause of fault.
- Determine solution to network problems by taking appropriate local action, including field and construction standards review, design work and system changes.
- Where local action is not appropriate prepare reports and liaise with others, predominantly Operational Asset Management to agree proposed solution.
- Liaise with Western Power personnel to implement network solution and close out the issue.
- Evaluate, analyse, test and report on new or modified equipment or facilities for performance or safety improvements.
- Undertake assigned duties for Emergency Response situations, this includes crew mobilisation, defining and prioritising work required to be completed and monitoring progress.
- Prepare, plan and coordinate operational plans including estimates and budgets for specific section projects
- Plan, prepare and provide detailed operations support to the System Services Coordinator / Regional Manager.
- Use project management systems and tools to manage work.
- Ensure work is completed according to operational standards and regulations.
- Conduct switching as required in the Distribution and Transmission Systems.
What makes you a great fit
- Possession of a Western Australian “A” Grade electrical workers License. (Endorsed Electrical Fitter and Electrical Mechanic) - essential
- Have appropriate switching levels to conduct switching as required in the Distribution and Transmission Systems
- Preferably 6 - 8 years technical experience in the energy industry, including appropriate industry licenses or certificates of competency
- Knowledge of networks construction, maintenance and operations field practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of Distribution and Transmission technology, switching techniques and practices.
- MS Office systems, Word, Excel & or Access. MIMS and scheduling/work management systems.
